My Self-Love Routine // Behind-the-Scenes

Self-love isn’t selfish. For the longest time, this simple concept was difficult for me. I tend to go, go, go and think of others first. A dear friend of mine helped me realize that I need to take time for myself. It helps in all the areas of my life – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Since then, I’ve developed a self-love routine to treat myself.

Massages Galore

Out of all the things on this list, this one is probably my favorite. There are few things better than a nice massage done by an incredible masseuse. I carry stress in my shoulders and back, and working out the knots can be painful. A deep tissue massage is heavenly and well worth it. However, it’s completely worth it as I always feel more flexible and looser afterward.

Getting a Pedicure

I know it sounds a little weird, but as fun as getting my fingernails all glammed up, I enjoy getting a pedicure more. I use my hands to create; they’re often covered with paint, glue, and ink, and any pretty nails I get never last long. Not only that, but a pedicure is more relaxing to me. When I go to the salon, I love getting a more extended session and splurging on a warm bath for my feet, massage, and pretty polish.

Alone at Last

As an introvert, I love (and need) time to myself. When stress and chaos overwhelm me, I sequester myself in a cozy area and kindly ask others not to bother me for a little bit. Sometimes I’ll take a nap while cuddling with my cat, and other times I will put in a couple of my favorite movies and just relax.
